Legende Vidéo is a French automatic subtitling service for short videos (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts). You upload a video, the speech is transcribed word by word with precise timestamps, you pick an animated subtitle style (the spoken word lights up in colour) and you export an MP4 with burned-in subtitles, or SRT/VTT files. It is available on iPhone, Android and the web (installable app), and published by Websource.

Yes, there is a Free plan with no credit card: 15 minutes of video per month, 3 preset styles, MP4 export with a small watermark and SRT/VTT exports without watermark. You can also try it without an account on the Demo page with a video of up to 60 seconds. The paid plans are Créateur at €9 per month (120 minutes, full customisation, no watermark) and Studio at €29 per month (400 minutes, white label, team-shared styles, API access). Subscriptions are monthly, with no commitment, and can be cancelled in one click.

Our transcription engine recognises around a hundred languages, including French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Dutch, Japanese and Korean. By default the language is detected automatically; you can also set it at upload to improve accuracy. The interface is available in French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Ukrainian and Russian.

In France, on a dedicated server run by Websource (Debian, TLS-encrypted connections). Transcription is performed locally on that server by our own engine: no video, audio or transcript is ever sent to a third-party AI API (no OpenAI, no Google Cloud). Your content is never resold or used to train models.

Source videos (and the extracted audio) are deleted automatically 7 days after upload. Exports (MP4, SRT, VTT, ASS) are deleted 30 days after they are generated. You can delete a project at any time, which erases its files immediately. For the demo without an account, everything is deleted after one hour. Technical logs are kept for 12 months at most.

Yes. Every project can be exported as MP4 (burned-in, styled and animated subtitles), as SRT and VTT (subtitle files to upload to YouTube, LinkedIn, Vimeo or an editing tool) and as ASS (advanced format that keeps the styling). SRT and VTT exports have no watermark, including on the Free plan.

Yes. Legende Vidéo is available as an iOS and Android app, and as an installable web app (PWA) at https://www.legende-video.fr, usable from any recent browser on desktop, tablet or phone. One account works everywhere: you can upload from your phone and grab the export from your computer. Processing happens on our servers, so a modest device is enough.

Three main differences. 1) Processing happens locally on our servers in France, with no third-party API, and your videos are deleted automatically after 7 days: it is built with GDPR in mind. 2) Style themes are reusable and shareable with your team, so your visual identity stays consistent from one video to the next. 3) The service is focused on subtitling: no full editing suite, no content generation, but accurate word-by-word subtitles, MP4/SRT/VTT exports and simple pricing with no commitment, starting at €0.

The audio track is extracted from your video, then transcribed by our speech-recognition engine, with a timestamp for every word and silence detection. Words are then grouped into short segments (5 words per line by default, adjustable), which you can correct in the editor before exporting. The final render burns the subtitles into the video using your style.

Yes, with the Studio plan (€29 per month): an owner invites members by email, the team shares a quota of 400 minutes per month and common styles, can show its own brand (white label, no Legende Vidéo mention on exports) and gets API access to automate subtitling from its own tools.

Usually from a few dozen seconds to a few minutes depending on the video length and the queue: transcription runs at roughly real time on CPU, then the MP4 render takes a few seconds. Processing continues on the server even if you close the app, and you get a notification when the subtitles and then the video are ready.

Yes. The editor shows every segment with its timestamps: you can fix a word, split or merge segments and change the number of words per line. The style (font, size, colours, outline, box, position, animation, active-word effect) is adjusted live in the preview, then you launch the render.

Yes, once logged in: paste the post’s link in the import screen and Legende Vidéo fetches the video, then transcribes it. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch and LinkedIn are recognised, as well as a direct link to a video file. YouTube often requires a human check for downloads coming from a server: in that case, save the video to your phone and upload the file. You must hold the rights to the imported video, and private posts are not accessible.

All common video formats: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, etc., in vertical 9:16, square or landscape. Limits per plan: 10 minutes and 300 MB on Free, 30 minutes and 1 GB on Créateur, 60 minutes and 2 GB on Studio. The demo without an account accepts up to 60 seconds and 80 MB.

From the app, in the Subscription section, tap “Manage my subscription”: you land on the Stripe portal where cancelling takes one click. You keep the plan’s benefits until the end of the period already paid, then your account goes back to the Free plan without losing your projects.
